Public comment

  • The Board meets in public, as required by law, for the purpose of discussing and taking action on matters for which the Board is responsible. Board meetings consist of discussion among Board Members and members of the administration or invited individuals. Board meetings are meetings in public, not meetings with the public. The Board recognizes and welcomes its responsibility to receive input from the public. At the same time, responsiveness to community input must be balanced with the Board’s responsibility to ensure the integrity of its meetings so that they are both orderly and efficient. The Board seeks to ensure a clear protocol for public comment from the community at Board meetings.
