The People’s Plan: A “Rhode Map” to Student Excellence
Dear Providence Community,
It is with great appreciation and hope for our future that I share The People’s Plan: A “Rhode Map” to Student Excellence, a framework created with the people, by the people, and for the future of our children. This framework will gather the shared vision, values, and voices of students, families, educators, and community members across Providence. It is grounded in what we believe in most: equity, accountability, transparency, and collaboration.
As we prepare for the return to local leadership, this is a moment to honor progress while looking ahead with purpose. Our shared aspiration is clear—to create a school system where every student is seen, supported, and empowered to thrive. The People’s Plan helps us create the goals and guardrails to help myself and the School Board govern effectively, remain accountable to results, and ensure community voice stays at the center of every decision.
Thank you for your continued support. Together, we are building a stronger future for Providence, one rooted in our values and driven by our collective commitment to student success.
Sincerely,
Ty’Relle Stephens
President, Providence School Board

The People’s Plan is built on real voices and real experiences. It values youth leadership and includes student voices in every step. We recognize the lived experiences of our community and believe those insights are key to creating lasting change. No matter your role, your voice matters and belongs in this process.
