CS4RI (Computer Science for Rhode Island) is a focused initiative to bring high quality computer science (CS) learning experiences to all students.
CS4RI Implementation Grants are part of Rhode Island’s larger statewide career education strategy: Prepare Rhode Island (PrepareRI). PrepareRI is the statewide career education initiative that unites many partners — including Rhode Island government, private industry leaders, the public education system, universities, and non-profits — around a common strategic plan to improve youth career readiness.
* Stipends of $1000 are awarded to CS4RI Advocates. Priority is given to urban districts and schools demonstrating need through Title I eligibility.
CS4RI will host a SCRIPT Workshop series at Rhode Island College on the following dates. All team members must attend all meetings. Much of the development of the Implementation Plan will be facilitated in these workshop meetings.Tentative workshop dates:Wednesday, December 4, 2019 – 4:00 – 7:00 pmWednesday, December 11, 2019 – 4:00 – 7:00 pmTuesday, January 14, 2020 – 4:00 – 7:00 pmThursday, January 30, 2020 – 4:00 – 7:00 pmSaturday, February 29, 2020 – 8:00 – 4:00 pm* It is expected that CS4RI advocates will dedicate time, typically 10 – 15 hours outside of the workshop meetings and school day, to complete the Implementation Plan. The actual amount of time will vary based on the size of the district and how each team decides to distribute tasks. Meals will be provided at each meeting.
