Welcome to the English Department!
In the English department, we want to prepare students for college and life after high school.
We want to make lifelong readers and writers as we know the pen is indeed mightier than the sword!
In order to graduate from PCTA students are required to take the following courses:
- Introduction to Literature (9th grade)
- World Literature (10th grade)
- American Literature (11th grade)
- British Literature (12th grade)
We also offer AP courses in 11th grade and a collaborative college course through Rhode Island College for the 12th grade
At the end of four years at PCTA, students will have read a multitude of novels from throughout the world, and written a variety of essays.
