Select students at Bailey Elementary have the privilege of serving as role models for their peers. These students, specifically fifth-graders, undergo an interview with our administrator, receive positive recommendations from their classroom teachers, and must show exemplary behavior to be considered for this position. Once made a Bailey Buddy, these students perform jobs such as selling ice cream at all lunches, escorting visitors on days of assemblies, peer-tutoring, assisting teachers with various classroom responsibilities, and announcing the daily Pledge and Word of the Week over the intercom. Each year, approximately ten candidates are selected as new Buddies. This is an honor held in high esteem with theses students and one that younger students strive to achieve one day!
