As you may know, PPSD is involved in the Caregiving Youth Project.  The CYP and the American Association of Caregiving Youth [AACY] support students who provide care for a loved one with an illness or injury, or who is elderly or disabled.  Many PPSD students have difficulty balancing schoolwork with caregiving responsibilities (estimates suggest up to 1 in 3 PPSD students fit the definition of Caregiving Youth), and the goal of this short survey is to understand the scope of caregiving responsibilities in our student community and inform which supports are most needed.  RIDE is involved in this project and the results will directly influence state-level educational policies.  As the largest district in Rhode Island, it’s imperative that our students’ voices are heard.
