Travis Escobar
Travis is the Manager, Community Relations at Fidelity Investments in Rhode Island. In that role, Travis supports the national Financial Literacy team on programs and events across multiple regions. Also, Travis works with connecting associates to non-profits in Rhode Island while also managing a budget for sponsorships and grant opportunities to invest in the community. Travis is a graduate of Rhode Island College, where he received a BA in Public Administration and Political Science in 2013.
Shortly after graduation, Travis co-founded Millennial Rhode Island. Millennial Rhode Island is a generational network that focuses on inspiring and connecting millennials to live, work, and grow in the Ocean State. Millennial Rhode Island has been recognized by multiple organizations for its work in the community including the National Association of Secretaries of State Medallion Awards for Civic Leadership and Advocacy and the State Society of Rhode Island for Leadership. Currently, Travis acts as the Board President where in his role he oversees fundraising, strategic partnerships and manages a board of diverse young professionals.
Before joining Fidelity, Travis worked for five years at United Way of RI as a Public Policy Manager where he co-chaired a statewide Housing Policy Group that created a collective policy agenda for Homes RI. Homes RI is a coalition of over 50 organizations that looks to address our growing housing crisis. Also, through United Way, Travis established the Out of School Time Learning Commission to research strategies to increase quality after school and summer learning programming for Rhode Island youth. Travis has also had the pleasure of emceeing the 2017 and 2018 United Way of Rhode Island Annual Meeting.
Travis also sits on the board of the Rhode Island Free Clinic and is an appointed member of the Providence School Board by Mayor Jorge Elorza where he co-chairs the policy committee.
