Kinzel Thomas is a lifelong resident of the city of Providence, and a proud alumnus of Providence Public Schools, having attended E.W Flynn Elementary School, Nathan Bishop Middle School, and Hope High School. Kinzel is a behavioral health technician at Family Services of Rhode Island, where he provides direct clinical assessments for children and families, and supervises the community health worker team. Previously, Kinzel was employed as a coordinator at West End Community Center. He is active in the Providence community, and serves as a member of the Providence Police Advisory Board. Kinzel has an Associate of Arts degree from the Community College of Rhode Island, a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Sociology from Rhode Island College, and a Master of Social Work from Rhode Island College.
Kinzel serves with a number of organizations, including on the executive committee of RIASC (Rhode Island Association of School Committees), as board member of the Community College of RI Alumni Association, and the Rhode Island Task Force on School Buildings, among others. Kinzel's first term on the Providence School Board began in February 2017.
