Oscar Paz is the Executive Director of the Newcomer Acdemy at PCTA. Over the last 20 years in school administration, Paz has served as Assistant Principal, Director, and Principal at Hope High School, Mt. Pleasant High School, Central High School, and, at the first-ever, Newcomer Academy, which was housed at Nathan Bishop Middle School. From 2022 – 2023, Paz served as the Deputy Chief of Staff in the Adminstration Offices. In 2023, he was appointed Executive Director of the new and innovated Newcomer Academy housed at PCTA!

Paz migrated to Rhode Island from Guatemala in 1997. He started his teaching career at Classical High School in 1995 teaching Mathematics and Spanish. He taught at Classical for eight years. In 2003, Paz moved into school administration.
