School & District Accountability
As of November 1, 2019, the Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) exercises authority over the Providence Public School District (PPSD), with the goal to develop and implement a Turnaround Plan for the city’s education system. To deliver on this goal, Commissioner of Elementary and Secondary Education Angélica Infante-Green and the RIDE team are engaged with parents, educators, students, community members and experts to develop a shared vision for the future of Providence schools.
