    PPSD Social Emotional Learning Beliefs
We believe academic learning and cognitive growth are inextricably tied to social emotional development and the pursuit of equity, liberation and self-actualization for our students . Students’ ability to learn about, practice and apply social emotional competencies (SEL) depend on adults’ SEL competencies and readiness to create a safe, and equitable learning environment. We believe SEL is not a “curriculum”  set a part from core content; it’s is explicit skills taught to provide access to rigorous, high quality learning experiences for students.
