Student Body
Nearly 24,000 students in pre-Kindergarten through grade 12 are served by the Providence School Department in 43 schools, 3 annexes, 2 charter schools and 1 center for students with significant disabilities. Providence students comprise a diverse body with 22% Black, 60% Hispanic, 12% White, 6% Asian and 1% Native American. 30% are English Language Learners, who hail from approximately 52 countries with 31 languages are spoken at home.
