MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

The academic year 2004-2005 has been quite exciting. We began the year with over two hundred new sixth graders and about and five new teachers! We also welcomed back our dedicated staff and wished each other “a very good year” and we re-dedicated ourselves to the task ahead of us.

It was interesting to see our sixth graders find their way around “their new school” and also make new friends. The Bridgham learning community, began the year with a big musical show by Angel! Many students have personally expressed to me about the fact that September 29th, will remain an unforgettable day in their lives because of Angel!

The big learning moment for us all on that day, was to continue to learn to enjoy life, enjoy school, and to pursue education with a passion. Learning at Bridgham is a wonderful opportunity and nothing is impossible when we have “hope.”

As challenges come our way, let’s continue to hold on to what is true and beautiful! I expect our students to be among the best in the city if not in the state. So I will continue to challenge them to pursue the opportunities given to them at Bridgham, to learn, and to grow. I am committed to seeing our young people excel in every area of their lives and to be true “Bridgham Bears.”

I would like to end by quoting William Shakespeare, who said:
“There is a tide in the affairs of men,
Which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune;
Omitted, all the voyage of their life,
Is bound in shallows and in miseries.”

So especially you boys and girls, make excellent use of your opportunity!
