School Board Policies
The Official Policy Manual is hosted online: Providence Electronic School Board.
School Boards govern by policies, which have the force of law.

  –  Policies provide the basic means to govern schools.
  –  Policies provide direction to and through the superintendent regarding operations
  –  Policies define working relationships among components of the school system
  –  Policies communicate the Board's vision for learning and achievement
  –  Policies state goals, purposes, and aspirations

The School Board establishes and maintains the district's top priority on student learning through policy development and review. Policy development provides an opportunity for new ideas on student learning, evaluates the effectiveness of ongoing programs, and realigns course offerings or provides new programs and course offerings. The policy adoption and review process is described in BG, School Board Policy Process.

Policies are classified according to the National Education Policy Network/National School Boards Association policy classification system.
