Student Assistant Program
The goals of the Mount Pleasant Student Assistance Program are to prevent and reduce alcohol, tobacco and other drug use and to improve student performance. To accomplish these goals, this program provides school wide awareness programs and individual and group services designed to provide facts about substance abuse and to teach skills that allow students to identify and resist social and situational pressures .

Ms. Barbara Allen works full time as Mount Pleasant's Student Assistance Counselor. She also provides time during the evening to meet with parents and make presentations to community groups. Ms. Allen has a Master's Degree in Social Work, many years of experience working with adolescents and specialized training in prevention and early intervention strategies with adolescents.

She is available to see students who are using drugs or alcohol or have personal, school, or family problems that could lead to alcohol, drug abuse or other unhealthy behaviors. If you are worried about your child's behavior call Barbara Allen directly at 456-9430. All calls will be confidential.

Health Services
A full time school nurse teacher provides health services to students at Mount Pleasant.

Social Services/ School Social Worker
Mount Pleasant High School offers special education services for students who have individual learning difficulties. One of the services offered to these students is social services. Nancy Krahe, LICSW, is currently the social worker assigned to Mount Pleasant to work with these students through small group and individual counseling, home visits and advocacy for parents and students at the multi-disciplinary team meetings which makes recommendations and suggestions for a student's individualized educational plan. While Ms. Krahe is assigned to working with student's receiving special education services, she is also available to meet with any student or parent of the Mount Pleasant High School Community.

Human Relations Specialist
A full time Human Relations Specialist monitors student attendance and schedules appointments with parents as needed.
