Nurse

My name is Mrs. Mary Ann Lilla and I am the School Nurse Teacher at Mount Pleasant High School. My primary responsibility is your optimum health and well being. I would like to keep you as healthy as possible during your high school years and teach you how to be responsible for your own health.

The Nurses Office is located in Room 127 on the first floor across from the Guidance Office. I am in school every day from 8:15 to 3:00 pm Monday through Friday. The phone number is 456-9186. You can also reach me by E-mail .

Here are some guidelines:

1. You always need a pass to see the nurse. (Unless it is an EXTREME EMERGENCY)

2. If you are absent from school due to illness or injury, a doctor's appointment, or an emergency room visit, please bring in a note from the doctor and notify the school.

3. The only medication the nurse administers in school is acetaminophen (Tylenol). You must have a signed parental permission slip on file in the nurses office if you wish to receive this medication.

4. If you must take any medications during school hours, (i.e. inhalers, etc.) you must have a special permission slip on file with the nurse.

5. If you have a documented medical condition (such as asthma, diabetes, seizure disorder, etc.) please see the nurse so your record can be updated.

6. Depending on the situation, I can give you a gym excuses for 3 days or less. If the excuse is for one week or longer you must have a doctor's note with the specific time interval for the excuse.

7. Elevator passes are given to students with mobility problems. You must have a doctor's note documenting the specific reason for the pass.

8. Dismissal due to illness. The nurse is only able to dismiss you when you are ill if she can reach a parent or their designee. Please make sure your emergency form is completed and on file in the Main Office.

Please remember that I am a resource person for you. If you have any questions regarding health issues and or accessing the health care system- see the nurse!
