Lifespan Summer Youth Employment Program
This upcoming summer in 2008, Lifespan will hold its
4th annual Summer Youth Employment program.
This is a program where youth, living in communities
that neighbor Lifespan affiliates, are hired for nine
weeks as employees in the hospitals. Youth will earn
$8.00 per hour and work 37 hours per week. Monday
through Thursday the youth will work in their
designated departments, such as Transport, Radiology,
Cardiology, Physical Therapy, and more, and each
Friday they will attend youth development workshops.

Each affiliate will host “Information Nights,” where
youth must attend to learn more about the program and
receive an application. Since this program is funded by
the Neighborhood Relations Board at RI Hospital and
the Community Affairs Board at The Miriam Hospital,
youth must reside in the South Providence (for RI
Hospital) or Mount Hope (for Miriam) communities in
order to be eligible. Youth are also required to be 16-19
years old. Visit their website at Lifespan Youth
for updates on Lifespan Youth Employment.
