School Wide and Community Portfolio Indicators |
In 2003, Rhode Island implemented the new Diploma program which developed new graduation requirements for all students in Rhode Island. Above and beyond passing required academic courses, all seniors must complete a "capstone" project. The Hope High School Complex chose student portfolios as the Performance Based Graduation Requirement capstone. To accomplish this, all students must submit portfolio entries from all courses each year. By a student's senior year, they will have portfolio submissions from which they can choose the best and create a personalized graduation project that provides evidence of communication, community involvement and cultural competence, self-reflection and self-managment, and problem solving and critical thinking.
Student portfolios are assessed by the expectations and indicators developed by the Hope High School Complex Performance Based Graduation Requirement committee, known the the PBGR team.
The Leadership portfolio indicators are skills and abilities we feel a student of the Leadership Community must embrace in order to become a leader in any walk of of life they choose. |
