The New Central High School 2008
The mission of Central High School is to create a safe, nurturing and respectful community; to provide a rigorous curriculum that fosters academic success, cultural awareness and responsible citizenship; and to prepare students for post-secondary education, careers, and lifelong learning.

Central High School - Vision
Central High Building
1927-2007
Central has undergone a major physical transformation in size and building renewal. Previously, Central High School was composed of three buildings. The main building was built in the 1920's, and served as home for academic programs. The Hanley structure was built in the 1950's and was the vocational compliment to Central High School and housed the career and technical programs. The third structure housed the Central High School cafeteria and gym.

Main Foyer
Only five years ago, almost two thousand students walked the dark hallways of the old school, scurrying from the main academic building across the street to the gym and the technical school. Today, the hallways of Central are bright and fresh. It now has its own gym/auditorium and cafeteria. The smell of construction is still present coming from the construction site across the street where the old gym and cafeteria no longer exists. The Hanley Career and Technical School is also being renovated and expanded as a new technical school, scheduled to be opened in 2009. The two schools, after decades of co-existence, are now two separate schools that will share a campus, athletic fields and fellowship.
