January Happenings: |
Student of the Month assembly was held on the 14th. The outstanding student in each classroom received a certificate from Mr. Kane.
Martin Luther King Jr. Day was celebrated throughout the school in a varriety of ways. Some classes wrote speaches that were shared over the intercom with morning announcements. Other classes watched the "I Have A Dream" speach on video, made t-shirts or created and shared a power-point presentation. Great job kids!
The student council sponsored a bake sale to raise funds for the upcoming 4th and 5th grade field trip. Faculty and parents donated treats and baked goods to the cause,making it a hugh success. Way to go!! |
April Events |
Laurel Hill Elementary School was visited by four soldiers who recently returned from Iraq. Students had made cards and written letters to the soldiers in December. The sholdiers shared pictures of Iraq with the students. They answered questions, and even let the kids try on the helmets! It was great for the children to see the save return of these fine men and women.
Student of the Month Assembly was held on Friday, April 29th. Outstanding students in each room were recognized for their acheivement. Good job! |
