Reading First Carnevale Elementary is proud to become a Reading First school as of the 2006-2007 academic year.
Looping What is Looping? Looping is a way of teaching that allows a teacher to teach students over a two-year period.
Inclusion Carnevale School has full inclusion classes in Preschool; Kindergarten, Grade 1, Grade 2, and Grade 3. These classes each have a general education and a special education teacher along with one or two teacher assistants. The students in these classes are doing very well and the program will advance by a grade level each year.
Special Education In addition to inclusion, Carnevale School offers specialized classes that meet a diverse range of special needs. There are four self-contained classes with teachers who specialize in teaching children with autism. These specific programs serve students at the preschool, primary and intermediate levels. There are also two self-contained elementary level classes for students with Pervasive Developmental Disabilities who require a full day, full year program (230-day). A large variety of adaptive equipment is available to meet these students' diverse needs and learning styles.
