Providence Schools is committed to developing strong and meaningful relationships with our parents and families. Research shows that when schools and families work together to support learning, children do better in school, stay in school longer and like school more.
The school department is fully aware that to be successful in reaching its student achievement goals, it must actively encourage and support strong parent involvement through effective engagement efforts. To ensure that it meets its goal and responsibility to meaningfully engage its parents and families, the school department created the Department of Family and Community Engagement to provide information, resources and tools for families to become active partners in their children’s education.
Providence students need their parents to advocate for them. The best way for parents to do this is to be informed and involved. Providence Schools has made the commitment to support parents in becoming equal partners in their children’s education by providing them with access to the schools, open and ongoing school-home communication, and the information and resources to support their children’s learning at home. The school department welcomes parents' input on parent engagement efforts. The department also expects to be held accountable to do what is best for children and to be respectful of parents and families as its most important education partners. |
