2008-2009 Advanced Academic Programs

Elementary Advanced Academic Program
The elementary program is presently being redeveloped. It is expected that every elementary school will offer advanced academic opportunities to their students. More information will follow in the Spring of 2008.

Middle School Advanced Academic Program
Now accepting applications. Deadline: Deadline: October 19, 2007.
Acceptance notification: January 4, 2008.

The School Department will offer Advanced Academic classes at Nathanael Greene Middle School. We are exploring the possibility of creating an additional program in at least one other middle school for the 2008-2009 school year.

Please identify your child’s current attendance status below to learn about these new procedures.

My child attends a Providence Public School.
1. The School Department will notify you by mail if your child qualifies for the Advanced Academic Program, based upon his or her scores on previously administered tests (SAT 10 and/or NECAP). With this notification, you will receive a program application and three required forms that are part of the application packet.
2. Fill out the application and forms, and submit with test scores and grade requirements by mail or by hand to the Office of Advanced Academic Programs by the deadline on October 19, 2007.

My child does not attend a Providence Public School.
