Planning for Community Partnerships and Grant-funded Partnerships
|
Community Partnerships The Providence School Department requires that any and all projects or partnerships that occur in the schools or in collaboration with schools obtain final approval from the principal and the Office of Public Engagement. In order to obtain this support, the “Community Partnership Application Form” must be completed and returned four (4) weeks before a final decision is needed to begin a project.
The application form provides space for the principal and all involved teachers to indicate their support for the project. The Office of Public Engagement will then review the application for partnership, and determine whether full approval of the request will be granted.
The Providence School Department will not allow programs or partnerships to occur in any school without proper signatory authority. Interested organizations and individuals should be advised that procedures relating to signatory authority will be strictly enforced.
Grant-Funded Projects and Partnerships Organizations and individuals seeking to partner with a school, multiple schools or the district as part of a grant application must first obtain preliminary approval for the project from the Development Office. Final approval must then be obtained from the Superintendent if the grant application requires the superintendent’s signature or any type of financial or in kind commitment from the district.
A Community Partnership Application Form must be completed for all requests for grant-funded partnerships with the Providence School Department. The completed form should be sent to the Development Office, along with a copy to the Office of Public Engagement. A letter describing the nature of the grant and the proposed role and responsibilities of the district must accompany the application. Requests should be submitted as early in the grant application process as possible to confirm that the proposed partnership will be supported by the Providence School Department.
All grant awards, contracts and assurance forms that fail to gain proper signatory authority from the Superintendent will not be honored by the District.
