School Board Policies

School Boards govern by policies, which have the force of law. - Policies provide the basic means to govern schools. - Policies provide direction to and through the superintendent regarding district operations - Policies define working relationships among various components of the school system - Policies communicate the Board's vision for learning and achievement - Policies state goals, purposes, and aspirations The School Board establishes and maintains the district's top priority on student learning through policy development and review. Policy development provides an opportunity for new ideas on student learning, evaluates the effectiveness of ongoing programs, and realigns course offerings or provides new programs and course offerings.
