District Corrective Action Plan
The Providence School District is deeply committed to increasing student achievement and improving outcomes for every student enrolled in Providence public schools. The primary purpose of the District Corrective Action plan is to promote and implement the educational improvement goals, priorities, and strategies articulated in Realizing the Dream.

District Corrective Action
Corrective Action Plan
In February of 2007, the Rhode Island Commissioner of Education placed the Providence School District in “Corrective Action.” School districts are placed in Corrective Action when multiple schools fail to reach their improvement goals for student achievement. As a result of being placed in Corrective Action, Providence was required to write a plan to improve student achievement across the district, and especially in the lowest-performing schools. Providence completed this plan and it was approved by the Rhode Island Department of Education in June 2007.

Quarterly Reports
